7:00pm // Rumor has it that all Ian Belknap wanted for Father’s Day was for you to show up at WRITE CLUB Chicago — Chapter 61: Violence, As It Turns Out, IS the Answer at the Hideout Inn (1354 W Wabansia Ave, Chicago, IL 60642). Tuesday’s lineup includes a smack-down between Stephen Walker and Sondra Morin, you have to see it! $10 at the door/ATM on the premises. 

7:30pm // If you’ve never heard or read the work of the great Kathie Bergquist, your life is sorely lacking. This is why we’re encouraging you all to visit Homolatte at Tweet Let’s Eat (5020 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL 60613) on Tuesday night to hear her read from her treasure trove of work. So cozy up, maybe order a coffee, and dig in to a night of fantastic stories. Free event. 

8:00pm // Come out to the Black Rock Pub & Kitchen (3614 N Damen Ave, Chicago, IL 60618) for another installment of The Pungent Parlour hosted by Jeff Philips and Jeremy Solomon. The featured lineup for Tuesday night’s show includes Anne PurkyAnita Mechler and Dustin MonkFree show.

Wednesday June 18th, 2014 

7:00pm // Vocalo Presents: Music & Stories… WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Visit Vocalo’s headquarters (848 E Grand Ave, Chicago, IL 60611) for a night of storytelling and music, including special performances by Katie Prout and Shantell Jamison followed by an open mic and music. Your emcee for the evening is Luis Perez. Don’t miss this fun night! Free event. All ages.

8:00pm // Cara Brigandi wants you to tell your story at Grown Folks Stories at The Silver Room (1442 N Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60622). This open mic series is raw, honest and intimate and totally worth going to. Free show. 

Friday June 20th, 2014 

7:00pm // Chicago’s wild-card reading series, Absinthe & Zygote is setting up shop at Loyola Park (1230 W Greenleaf Ave, Chicago, IL 60626) for a special summer installment of their show. Friday’s lineup includes Natalie EilbertRussell Jaffe and Nat Surin. Roll in the grass and listen to some invigorating stories with the gang. Free show.
