July 11th to July 13th
Chicagoʼs Lakeview, Wicker Park, and Logan Square neighborhoods

Chicago, IL June 16, 2014 — A new, three-day comedy festival is coming to Chicago from July 11 to 13, 2014. Over 60 standup comics from Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and beyond are slated to appear across 20+ shows, including well-loved national headliners Andy Kindler (Bobʼs Burgers, Maron, Comedy Central, Late Show with David Letterman), Jackie Kashian (Last Comic Standing, NPRʼs This American Life, Conan), and current Saturday Night Live cast member Brooks Wheelan.

The Comedy Exposition of 2014 is a stand up comedy festival with a DIY ethos. Spanning three neighborhoods—Lakeview, Wicker Park, and Logan Square—the festival will bring together national headliners and comedians from around the country to celebrate Chicago’s blossoming standup scene

Other performers on deck include Aparna Nancherla (Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell), Sean OʼConnor (Comedy Central Half Hour), Shane Torres (Comedy Bang! Bang!), Sean Patton (Comedy Central Half Hour), and Ryan Singer (Bob & Tom, Comedy Central) appearing at some of Chicagoʼs finest venues, including Schubas, The Hideout, Township, The Annoyance Theatre, Comfort Station Logan Square, and several others.

Those interested in attending The Comedy Expo have a few options when it comes to ticketing: a limited number of $60 premium passes are available, which guarantee access to nearly all 20+ shows happening across the festivalʼs 3 days, as well as a $25 showcase passes, which offer an affordable option to those looking to check out up-and-coming talent at the myriad showcase shows happening throughout the early evening each night of the festival.

Individual tickets to each nightʼs Main Event show, each one featuring some of the festivalʼs biggest names are also on sale, for $20 apiece.

Inspired by Just For Laughs Chicagoʼs indefinite hiatus, Chicago-based standups Katie McVay (Yell You Better), Stephanie Hasz (Comedy Secrets), Zach Peterson (Arguments and Grievances), and Goodrich Gevaart (Freak Happening) along with comedy producer and freelance writer Matt Byrne (Splitsider) have vowed to fill void with something more community-oriented.
