Badass feminist writer and socialist Caitlin Moran will be in Chicago on July 10th at the Swedish American Museum (5211 N. Clark Street, Chicago IL 60640) at 7:30pm discussing her new novel, How To Build A Girl (available June 30th via HarperCollins).
Moran, who rose to fame for her knock-out memoir/manifesto, How To Be A Woman has earned accolades for her new novel from Kirkus Reviews, Booklist, and fellow authors Helen Fielding and Lena Dunham.
Here’s the synopsis of How To Build A Girl:
Caitlin’s debut novel, How To Build A Girl, is a moving, female-centric, and very funny coming-of-age story from “the UK’s answer to Tina Fey, Chelsea Handler, and Lena Dunham all rolled into one” (Marie Claire). The novel echoes aspects of her life—such as joining the staff of the British music weekly Melody Maker at 16, before she became a prize-winning columnist at the London Times—but it is a work of fiction, through and through, and an utterly beguiling one at that.
