Meet Historical Nonfiction Author Karen Abbott on September 14th at Women & Children First

Karen Abbott, the New York Times bestselling author of Sin in the Second City and American Rose: A Nation Laid Bare: The Life and Times of Gypsy Rose Lee, will be reading from her latest book: Liar, Temptress, Soldier, Spy: Four Women Undercover in the Civil War on Monday, September 14th at Women & Children First Bookstore (5233 N Clark St, Chicago, IL 60640). The special reading and signing will take place at 7:30pm.

Abbott is a critically acclaimed and well-respected historian known for her eloquence and praised for her flawless attention to detail. She first captivated popular imagination in 2007 when she released Sin in the Second City, a biography about the Everleigh sisters and their notorious high-end brothel.

Riding off the crest of her success, Abbott released American Rose, a biography on Gypsy Rose Lee, and undoubtedly the most entertaining and exciting account of the famous burlesque dancer’s life.
