Wednesday

Come out to Sheffield’s Beer & Wine Garden (3258 N Sheffield Ave, Chicago, Illinois 60657) for RUI: Reading Under the Influence. The theme for the December installment is, “Lights Out”, and will feature readings by Keith Kappel, Benham Riahi, and Samantha Lafountain. Doors open at 7pm, so grab a burger and a beer prior to the 7:30pm show.

Columbia College students Ashlee Bond-Richardson and T. Daniel Frost are this month’s featured readers at the Gumbo Fiction Salon Series. The salon takes place at the Galway Arms (2442 N Clark St, Chicago, Illinois 60614) at 7pm

Authors Ronna Wineberg and Donna Baier Stein will be at Women & Children First Bookstore (5233 N Clark St, Chicago, Illinois 60640) discussing their new books this Wednesday at 7:30pm. Wineburg recently released the short story collection, Of Nine Facts That Can Change Your Life, and Stein is the author of The Silver Baron’s Wife.

There will be a special author conversation between Lucy Jane Bledsoe and Carol Anshaw this Thursday at Women & Children First Bookstore (5233 N Clark St, Chicago, Illinois 60640) this Thursday at 7:30pm; Bledsoe will be discussing her Cold War novel, A Thin Bright Line.
