We’re now open to submissions for our Afrofuturism Issue! What are we looking for? Read below!
What is Afrofuturism?
“Afrofuturism is a literary and cultural aesthetic that combines elements of science fiction, historical fiction, fantasy, Afrocentrism, and magic realism with non-Western cosmologies in order to critique not only the present-day dilemmas of black people, but also to revise, interrogate, and re-examine the historical events of the past.” (Wikipedia)
We had a special art contest to find this issue’s cover. The cover, “Calliope”, was designed by the brilliant graphic design artist, Keenan Dailey. Keenan’s art will be on display in our online gallery throughout the issue.

Short Fiction (2,000 word maximum)

Make sure you adhere to our submission guidelines and be sure to include a brief third-person bio about yourself at the foot of your submission or in the body of your cover letter.
